Early days, but seems like an ok device. Was a bit hard to get my head around how it needs to be set up. Was thinking it was going to appear as another drive on my network but to do that needs a bit of youtubing video work to get to that stage. There are some good videos however to get this done. Nice and quiet which is what i was after. It was however easy to find and setup up to at least see it - but there is alot of other work to get it to a personalised usable stage for me anyways.

Purchased to replace an Asustor NAS that couldn't be repaired. Qnap is great value for the feature set and could take my existing HDD's from my previous NAS. Very Easy setup. Still learning some of the features but appears to be very intuitive and already recieved firmware updates.

I was expecting just a storage device, but this does a lot more, programming languages, servers, version control, syncing to cloud services etc. I ended up using it's computer backups in lieu of time machine on the Mac, as I couldn't get the Mac to recognize the nas.
