I certainly wouldn't call it heavy duty. In that regard, it's no match for a regular bench grinder. It doesn't have the duty cycle, or cutting capacity to compete. But if a bench grinder is too industrial, because you need to run it in the kitchen, or because you don't have much shelf space, and you don't need it often, then this can compete. It's cheaper, lighter, and takes up less space than a bench grinder. If what you need is a light duty domestic sharpener for occasional use, then this may be a good choice. If you actually need a heavy duty sharpener, give it a miss.

a little disappointed in it's output. chisel support not up to scratch, very flimsy. adjustment screw difficult to operate. finish on end of chisels 3/10. it's cheap, it works up to a point. but finished items not perfect by any means

This gadget gives the impression that it was designed by someone who has never used , let alone sharpened a chisel. There is no clamping device on the slider, which is sloppy. The diameter of the grinding wheel is far too small. Good points, will become clearer as in time I will give it thought and perhaps modify to a usable standard.

Easy to understand instructions and safety advice. Easy to set and use. I even sharpened my garden shears, and a couple of screwdriver tips that had been chipped. Very happy with product and it's easy to store away.
