This little gadget is a great help, when paired up with my Garmin HR chest strap, in helping me develop my cycling style. I can get an instantaneous readout of cadence, HR and speed on my Garmin Edge and then later on Strava I can relate these with altitude. It has helped me improve my cadence by keeping it relatively consistent when tackling hills (ascending and descending). It's very analogous to driving a car by trying to keep the revs (bike cadence) in the area of best torque and keeping an ear on whether the engine is labouring (my HR). The sensor was easy to fit to the left crank but I was a bit concerned about my left foot rubbing against the rubber band which holds the device in place with the potential loss of the sensor. To prevent this, I wrapped the entire band with black insulating tape. The sensor is not cheap - but it is worth it.Read full review

Attaches to your left hand pedal crank using the supplied rubber straps. There are three straps of various sizes for the size of the pedal arm. No need to have a magnet fitted. I paired it with a Garmin 310XT and a Vivoactive. Just read the instructions that came with your device that you are going to pair the cadence sensor to. I wish I could have found them instead of online! This sensor will pair with most Garmin devices, Check on the Garmin website to make sure that it's compatible with your device. There is a lag of a few seconds before cadence shows on the display but as soon as it does. It's constant as long as you on the 310XT you set the data fields to display cadence. A useful training tool to show your cadence and it will also show you average cadence on the Garmin Connect app.Read full review

I have used other cheaper sensors before and this beats them hands down , easy to set up and pair, no magnets required . I think it is better than the giant ANT sensor.

Does as it says on the tin Took 2 minutes to put on and was ready to use. My Garmin 810 picks it up no problem every time. Would recommend 10/10

I have two of these, one for each bike. They do the job and it's good to see your performance on the Strava app when back home after a ride.
