So these are pretty good amateur tools. I have had two ad the last me around 5 to 6 years. I have just bough one for my middle son whose an apprentice. Being steel this is much better than the plastic ones which may last a year or so. Don't confuse these with a cheaper very similar pattern copy that's also available which are useless due to poor quality. The more expensive professional ones are more heavily built and can be 'dropped' but are obviously far more expensive. Recommended.

I opened the case very expectantly...looks good.... however the "feel" of the Vernier is rough.....even with lubrication, it still feels "rough" when in use. It is difficult to describe, but a normal vernier is smooth. The vernier wheel also feels rough. Not the best, and I had hoped Mannisman would be. I will be looking for a Mittitoyu. As far as the actual operation ... it measures.... which is what my "old" eyes needs.

Looks to be a well made set of calipers, good solid feel. Dont know if there engineering standards, but for what i need they suit perfectly

Cost more than other products so, and in principle, should last longer, Only complaint the battery cover can easily slip off, i need to ensure that it is less likely to do so while still allowing a battery change in the future.
