This is a cracking handheld vacuum !! It's well worth the extra money I paid compared to cheap ones that don't have any suction power at all. It's dead easy to empty and to clean the inbuilt filter which you must do on a regular basis to ensure full suction. I like the retractable crevice tool too. Smart looking, solid and well made, it really does the job well. It might be a little on the heavy side for the elderly. Only one drawback, why oh why don't they include a wall bracket for it ?? !! You don't want to leave it lying around on the floor or a work surface near a 240v socket so why not a bracket to house it ?? I keep mine plugged in and charging 24/7 to make sure it's ready for action at all times so I came up with the idea of using a wall mounted iron holder to slot it into for storage which works well but added an extra £6 or so to the total cost. So, get one when it's on offer and and you won't go wrong. I would recommend this product !!Read full review

Everything that the description says is true, but what they don't say is also true, and it matters ... A LOT! If you need it to pick up the items as mentioned in the advert then this cleaner is great. But, I have a log burning stove and needed a cordless cleaner to pick up the ash that always always seems to finish-up round the hearth after cleaning the ash tray. I wanted it for this purpose and no other. The ash is quite fine and sits quite tidily and should be no trouble to pick up, and it really is very easy to pick up, but, unfortunately it passes straight through the coarse filter and is blown right back out into the room as a fine dusty mist. Two puffs on the blue asthma inhaler and I was OK. Note, the filter was in place and correctly fitted. I can see that the manufacturer probably compromised filter efficiency in order to avoid reducing suction. As supplied this cleaner is absolutely useless for picking up fine dust or ash as it blows it right out again. However! I did create a supplementary filter of my own from a three-ply paper tissue glued into the shape of a cone that fits over the supplied filter. This does trap ash dust and causes no noticeable reduction in suction. As the cleaner is only used for very short periods each day the filter will last for at least a couple of months before I have to make another. The cleaner is now fit for my purpose. Read full review

I was a little skeptical about buying one of these as I have read a lot of guarded or critical reviews. This is a must have replacement for the dustpan and brush and cuts down the need for a weekly vacuum, an absolute bargain for the money which does exactly what it says on the tin! I dont have pets so dont know how it performs with pet hairs, but it picks up everything my high powered corded vacuum does. My advice, buy one, you wont be disappointed, unless you have unrealistic expectations of course!

Pleased with this vacuum. It's good on stairs and awkward corners, does edges of carpet that uprights and robots don't do well. It's easy to handle, light with centre of mass near the handle. Surprisingly quiet too. I had to order filters from the US (where it is sold as a Dirt Devil) but they're not expensive if you shop around and good for 3 months. It's easy enough to empty, which is just as well because it has quite a small capacity. Battery endurance is fine for its dust capacity. Perhaps because it's old-tech NiCD there's no indication of when it is charged, which means it ends up being left on charge longer than necessary.

Easy to use and light enough the vacuum is okay if you know what to expect from a hand held vac. Personally I found it a bit underwhelming since I planned to use it for my car and small room for those easy to clean/hard to reach places. It did the job with my car (now I wasn't timing) but I raced through my car being against the clock and that battery did not feel like 15mins, it also really struggled to lift out the stuff between the cracks in my seat (tool extended or not). It got a little extra out of my floor mats after shaking but no where near perfect. Essentially if you're looking for a vac to do your carpets or vacuum fabrics then might as well forget it with hand held vacs but if it's just for a touch up or you have leather or laminate to clean then go right ahead. However, I think this review on the whole is aimed at the hand held vacuum cleaner class since (for a hand held) this vacuum is affordable and does a good job really. But if you're after power, longer battery life or have the cash to spare for a modern cleaner then probably go dyson or shark or g-tech, one of their wireless models.Read full review
