Most gig bags are simply a floppy bag with no real support on the interior. This bag has great interior support similar to a hard case with support for the top/neck of the guitar. It has several storage pockets: 1 for sheet music, a soft lined pocket for tuners, pickups, capos, pics etc; a smaller quick access pocket on the top of the case also for extra pics/capos. You can carry this bag any way possible. It has a side handle, a handle on the back (where the neck and the body of the guitar meet), 2 straps on the back which allow you to carry it on your back like a back pack (really eliminates the weight of carrying the guitar), or fling it over your shoulder using 1 strap. What's nice is that the straps can be easily removed if you don't want to use them, and clip them back on later if you choose. This is a very versatile case with lots of storage, carry options, strong, sturdy, water resistant exterior, with a supportive, soft lined interior which can be adjusted for various sized guitars simply by removing optional padding built in. It can hold a large acoustic with no problem. I have a large 12 string dreadnought which fits with no problem. You can't go wrong with this case. A great value for the money. It is a very nice bag... not a case... thought it would have had more of a solid foam side like my roadrunner soft case. This is a soft sided round town gig bag. While being made very well and has the fit for a 12 string which is why I bought it... PLUS a lot of room for stuff. BUT... I would't trust it to airline baggage handlers... if I hit the airways I would use a hard or soft hard case for my baby instead of this. Got a open box display for almost half the price of retail which made it a fair deal.

Most of the gig bags sold here, padded or not, are not very good. This is one of the best. It’s light, but sturdy, with a lot more well-placed padding than one would expect. The shoulder straps are comfortable. This provides a lot of protection from bumps and also from heat and cold. There are times wen a hard case is better, but I often have several instruments to carry to a jam from the parking lot, and it’s a lot easier to carry my guitar on my back so I have my hands free for other things.

Gator makes some of the best, affordable gig bags around (IMHO). I've got two now, one for a bass and one for acoustic guitar. Love 'em.

I bought this soft guitar case for two reasons: the look and functionality. I really like the fact that it acts like a hard case, with real good cushioning inside to protect my guitar.
