This is a wonderful little calculator. I have several...one for every room. It can do everything I want it to do and then some. The TI-30XII can do a little more, but is also more complicated to use. I'm not sure it's worth the difference in cost. ~Bill

I had one exactly like this one that died which was why I was wanting another one as I really like this particular calculator. The problem is the one I just received lasted about 2 days and died just like my old one so not real thrilled with the purchase. That being said the calculator is very old as I bought my first one probably 40+ years ago so not totally surprised.

I'm happy with the calculator except the instruction manual isn't very clear. I cannot figure out how to use the statistics functions that I need for my class. The manual really just says it has the keys, it doesn't show preciseky how to use them to work a problem. But it's a great price for a multifunction calculator. Plan on getting someone to show you how to use it.
I recommend the TI-30XA (not the TI-30 II)highly and it is used in all my HS and college classes. Cheap, readily accessable, easy to learn how to use, easy for the teacher to demonstrate. I like the big keys, easily read display, the 3 memory banks, the stats, and all the scientific functions you could ever uses. It is very durable (On e-bay, check out those up for auction!), all it ever need is batteries (school can buy wholesale at around 25 cents. Higher level students normally buy the graphing calculators, but the TI-30Xa is the one for all of the other students.
I bought this for my grandson to help with his algebra. It's been very helpful and is easy to use. He also lets his friends who don't have one of their own use it as well. Hopefully, he will use this calculator will in other math classes that he might take in the future.
