NCStar VISM Sight installation tool, Pusher

Instructions are stamped on the housing along with center line and increments. Simply read them. I recommended dousing it down in WD-40 and letting it set for a while before using, also run all the adjustments in and out several times and before each use. Quality is good but I wouldn’t consider it a ‘precision tool’. Check all the adjustment wheels and snug them with the included Allen wrench, one of mine wasn’t tightened at all and was loose in the box. A good oiling and work out should remove any burrs or imperfect threads. Take your time and don’t force it, it could break. If it feels like it’s binding up, stop and check your work.. it should work with just your hands. I’ve seen some pics of some wrecked sights and I just have to think someone should have paid to have the work done. Came in a nice case with 2 sets of jaws and a Allen wrench. I just put 4 sets of night sights on so it’s already paid for itself times 2. Should last a long time if it’s taken care of. Happy with purchase and recommended if you have decent basic mechanical knowledge..

    Good Design, Stength Needs Iimprovement

I liked the functionality of tool unfortunately the top piece broke during the removal of my first sight. It was an XD40 which I hear is known for its sight removal difficulty. However, the description states it works with XD models. The tool I felt was made well and easy to use. And would recommend it for less stubborn sights. It's just not sufficient to deal with tough sight removals.

  • Rear Site remover

This product delivered as advertised. The construction was solid and easy to use. This was my first attempt to remove/replace my sites on a gun. The most time consuming part for me was aligning tool to the lowest part of the rear site without dragging the tool across the top of the frame. I did not know HOW secure the rear site was attached so I wanted to capture as much of the rear site as possible when attempting removal. There was a pop when it released, scared me momentary, NO damage - WHEW!!!. The removal and installation went smoothly. For the money, great choice.

  • AN easier way to remove and replace dovetail sights

I received my sight push tool in vary good order. I have used it once to remove the rear sight on a 1911 type slide. it worked like it was supposed to.It sure beats pounding it out with a punch and a hammer. I am going to mount it on a base so it will easier to use.

  • Safe accurate way to install sights.

This is really well made. I have seen image of where some have failed. Take the time to postion the sigh slider so that it gets maximum contact with slight. I also used this to seat the front sight which fits its nole snugly. Hammering on tritium lamps and fiber optics can be good for it. Also not precise. Main design flaw is all the internal slide holds and sigh sliders are black.. makes seeing the gun and sight very hard. would be better with a lighter color to contract with the common black of many guns.

  • Almost Flawless!!!

This pusher is of great quality. The look and feel are spot on, and the function is amazing. The one and only issue I had using it was with the elevation table. It is diskshaped, and supports the bottom of the slide. It seems that a small screw through it's center holds it tightly ato a vertical, threaded rod to allow height adjustment by rotating the table. Unfortunately, the small screw was slightly loose, meaning that the table rotated indipendantly of the threaded rod. It was an easy fix, but future models should have a better methods of attachment, in my opinion.

  • My new sight changing tool

Bought this from the advice of a friend who also bought one, price was much better than ones from other sites that are gun specific and of higher price. Item arrived in under a week, so fast delivery - Great! Comes with a soft padded carry case and instructions. Well made and was easy to set up and use. Great addition to my gun tools here, so now able to do just about every gun when it comes to changing the sights on them. Here is the issue, I initially used it to install a rear sight on a 1911 slide, worked perfectly. I then needed to remove the exact same sight two days later and the whole side of the sight pusher snapped off. Everything was locked in place like it should have been, but when I got about 50% of the way, it snapped off. Even though hardened steel, it appeared to be brittle. If you buy one, be aware and careful not to destroy the tool or damage the gun you are using it on. I am now re-finishing the entire slide again due to the scratching of the side when it snapped off.

  • It's a good value product

I have personally never used another sight pusher but this one got the job done. Centering the upper was impossible so using the little adjustment Guage on top is not helpful at all. Everything is metal and plastic so be sure to not scratch your slide. Use the plastic inserts that come with it and be certain there is perfect clearance between your upper and the sight pusher. The pusher actually bent my OEM glock sight but I didn't care since I was replacing it with the Truglo TFX pro. Very difficult to fully center the sight because sight is impaired by device; after several attempts I finally got it visually centered (will have to test it soon). Additionally, be sure to oil all threads very well because they are very sticky to start. Use a good gun oil and coat every thread very well for optimum effectiveness of adjusting arms. Overall the quality of the device is 8/10 but it sure gets the job done. If you're trying decide between a more expensive rear sight tool and this one, choose this one. Have some patience and figure out how to use it before making your first attempt and you'll be happy. The tool comes in an awesome carrying case and I believe it would work for any sight adjustment of any pistol. For precise centering of sight, you will need to make multiple attempts and use a micrometer. But overall, as long as you're careful and patient, you cannot get a better valued product. Pros: inexpensive, great value, works on any sight, gets the job done. Con: metal (up and down) adjustment needs to be padded as the included plastic protection piece moves around when adjusting slide

  • Did a good job

I got this after reading tales of people with nightmares removing the factory sight from a shield (45). I didn't realize it would take a hydraulic press to remove it. Got the sight tool: well made, metal except where polymer is used to protect the slide. Of course I tried to remove the sight, but I eventually used a hammer and punch. I cleaned up the new sight, the tool installed it perfectly and made alignment easy. A warning tells you to oil the tool well before use - good advice. Also, a 15mm closed end wrench on the crank end makes turning the press much easier. I'm pleased with the unit, it holds the slide securely, and comes in a nice padded carry/storage case.

  • High quality, works right the first time, worth it at twice the price

Two of my pistols (Glock and 1911) have pressed in tactical sights and both were off for me. Bought this tool and within an hour at the range the windage is perfect. The tool comes in a nice foam lined carrying case with inserts for various types of slides. My slides have flat sides so I used the flat inserts. I oiled the sights the night before with penetrating oil and went slow. I didn't need to bolt or clamp the tool down which is nice for adjustments at the range. Very pleasantly surprised at the quality and usefulness of the tool. So much nicer than the other low cost slide pushers on ebay. Would absolutely buy again.
