    Good quality 3.5mm jack

    Was concerned that the quality of this plug would be very poor for being such a cheap part. However I am pleased with its performance. I used one to repair a pair of headphones and have no complaints. I was able to easily solder to the terminals and got good strong joints. The build quality is actually pretty good and I do not expect it to fail under normal use. The weakest point would appear to be the crimping section that holds the cable jacket where it enters the plug. The plug looks just like the photos and has a "high quality" appearance. Based on its looks, I would not guess that it was a $3 replacement part.

    used for a repair

    my headphones to my laptop had a broken plug. I cut the old one off and was able to solder this one in and it worked perfectly. preparing the wire was difficult as it was very very thin but I scraped the enamel insulation off with sandpaper and checked continuity with a multimeter. after tinning, the wire was easy to connect to the plug. audio quality is very good

    I prefer the non solder jacks but this worked great. Once you replace the old jack with an item like this you usually never have a problem with it again.
