  • Death Cab at their Greatest

This defintely one of my favorite albums and by far the best Death Cab For Cutie album, and im surpirsed at how little its recognized. This is their first album and it sounds a lot different than all of their albums so dont expect it sounding like Plans or Narrow Stairs. It has a very chill lo-fi sound to it with great use of effects on vocals and instruments all of which are brought together with the bands genuis way of handling rythyms, vocals, melodies, and whatever feeling they wish to convey. Songs ranging from sad, meloncholy, slow, and haunting, to upbeat, and lively. Their genre would be hard to put a finger on becuase they are so many! But i would say the sound like shogaze plus dark wave plus hard bluesy stuff plus a slight punk/pop influence. Every song is great and worth ...

  • Not their best, but is still a classic

This is death cab in the very beginning stages of their great musical careers. It shows a young, self conscious ben gibbard who loves to use vocal effects to hide insecurites about his voice. But in this, it also makes the record have a really cool lo-fi charm. This album will definetly need to grow on you, especially for thos who have only heard Transatlanticism and later death cab. The songs are great, a little harder rocking than the later stuff. Overall, this album is a must purchase if you are a pretty big death cab fan, or even someone who mildly likes them.

  • Very good early record of the band.

Great early record from Death Cab For Cutie. Its not fantastic but pretty good.

  • President Of What

This is my favorite Death Cab album. It has more of an indie sound than their later work and reminds me of everything from Aaron Sprinkle to Pedro The Lion. President Of What is probably my favorite Death Cab track and what clinches it is the fantastic organ which drives the song. All indie music should be this good. 5 Stars.
