    This is an incredible series....terrific production, realistic...compact. If you watch this series, regardless of what you learned in school about our country's history, you will gain a tremendous understanding of our nation's historic timeline, and the events that shaped it into what it is today. I watched this series on the HISTORY CHANNEL and instantly went in and bought this set. And you can get your adolescent children to sit down and watch this series, it will be of incredible value to both of you. This DVD set is an incredible value. Paul Texas

    History not often taught in school

    I purchased the 'America- The story of us' for my two kids 7, and 11. The story of America is not often detailed to the level in schools any longer, and this tells the greatness of our country. I learned a few things, but enjoyed watching my two kids learn from it. They actually want to watch this DVD set as it is engaging and entertaining for the. Done in a way that brings history to life and makes it not so boring. Well Done.

    I am first generation immigrant and came to America when I was 7. I am now a business owner and have absolutely experienced The American Dream.     Great for a teacher to have on hand

    Perfect for supplementing a US history class - pretty balanced, factually accurate, and engaging enough to use to introduce concepts and help tie them together for students. Great when you need a change of pace in the classroom. By definition, it has to be selective about what to cover, and manages to keep things in perspective most of the time... tough to do when you are getting so close to historical events. It also brings in modern perspectives, including snippets on interviews with current and recent experts in history, politics, business, and other pertinent areas.

    Excellent for 5th grade Social Studies lessons.
