Great upgrade for older machines.
If you have an old machine with a 945/965 chipset, this is just about the fastest dual core CPU you can upgrade to. It makes a big difference on budget machines from the time that shipped with slow single or dual core Celerons, or even slower Core 2 parts. Great CPU, and Fast!
I replaced this with a Pentium 925, everything is working great. I am getting a bottleneck a bit though, only because the MB i am using old, but i plan to replace it. So if you have not switch over to a dual core, grab a core 2 duo and the e6600 is a perfect choice if you can't find anything. Just make sure you have an update to date MB, non Pentium era
