  • Two excellent classics :-)))

Two excellent old classics. I bought the set because I had long wanted to get this version of A Tale of Two Cities, which I had seen many years ago and had stuck in my imagination. And to get that fine version of Oliver Twist at the same time, all for a very good price, was bonus piled on bonus. My expectations were not disappointed. A double treasure added to my DVD library.

  • Great Charles Dickens' adaptations, Region 0

I have been searching for the 1989 mini-series of Dickens' "Tale of Two Cities" and was very excited to discover this Australian release which also includes the 1982 adaptation of "Oliver Twist" with George Scott. Both are good adaptations but I especially liked the Tale of Two Cities which at over three hours allows for a fuller development of the story. Both dvds are region 0 so I was able to play them in a European dvd player. The only thing I would have wished for is English subtitles - none are available.
