You can focus as close as 9.5 inches with this Canon USM lens and fill the frame with subjects as small as 3.6 x 5.4 inches. Inner focusing system in the Canon 10-22mm means that there is no front element rotation and also the length does not change when zoomed.

He suggested what I might do to have the lens checked out and after I did that the seller suggested that I should follow the ebay returns procedure, to apply for a refund. I am awaiting my refund at the moment.

    A must-have lens for APS-C Canon cameras

    This lens has a great range, equivalent to 16-35mm, although it does seem a bit soft on 18 MP cameras, wide open. Otherwise this lens is great, adding a filter makes this into a constant volume lens, so it won't suck in dust. The hood is crazy, so big compared to the lens, I'd leave it at home, especially if there's a filter attached, that's plenty of protection.

    Great lens- worth the investment

    what a great lens - great quality of picture, easy to focus, and the wide angle is excellent. Not much visual distortion around the edges, no fish eye effect while still getting great wide angle. The only drawback is that because the lens is quite large, it blocks the built in flash on my canon 550D. I had to purchase a flash unit. Not a big deal, because the flash unit provides better photos anyway. so all it really did was motivate me to get a better flash! I love it for my primary walkaround lens. I really really like using it, and its great even just for taking photos of people as i can stand wuite close to them and still get a good shot. if its too wide angle, i just crop it later on the computer.

    Great, versatile lens for travel shots.

    Fantastic lens for the price. Great for landscapes and interior shots. On a recent trip to Thailand I got some great temple shots, inside and out. Not too much distortion, even with people in shot, as long as they are near the center of frame.

    Great value for money

    I bought this for landscape for its wide angle. So far I had some nice photo with it, however sometimes I feel the auto focus is not correct. I'm not sure whether this is because of my camera or the lens or just happened by my mistake! Overall I'm happy with this lens
