Product Information

Although it doesn't vary greatly from the 1991 Genesis game starring the Arachnid Avenger, The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin is 65 levels (including a pinball stage) of super-hero goodness. Spidey must punch, kick and web-sling his way through a bevy of bad guys (including Green Goblin and Mysterio) in order to thwart Kingpin's plans of destroying New York City. The game looks similar to Spider-Man for the Genesis, but with more color, and the soundtrack is a nice mix of rock and heavy metal. More importantly, the controls are excellent, and the battles are a blast. The cut-scenes are also fun. At the time of its release, this was the best Spider-Man game on the market.

    A fun experience with charming animations and catchy 90's rock music

    Best version of the game you can get by far. Features awesome music by Spencer Nilsen in collaboration with Mr. Big (Eric Lee Martin). It is a neat oddity and what differentiates it from the Genesis version is the game's story is brought to life through animated cutscenes that are somewhat crude by today's standards but still quite charming. When Spidey dies, each game-over screen can be different depending on how you were taken out. This pre-dates the Spider-Man animated series in the 90's. It also has voice acting which can be a bit hilarious as the voice actor tries very hard to sound heroic, but oversells it a bit to the point where it borders on parody. In terms of gameplay, you are able to explore the entire city of New York and pick and choose where you go next, in order to ...

    A very good game for the Sega CD, it has some laughable cut scenes but the game is still fun, very hard but fun.

    Love this game

    This is one of those games for Sega CD you have to have. Great game play will keep you busy for long time, amazing music and cartoon cut scenes between levels are nice. Just love it.

    Fun game, brings me back.

    Great game for the time period. The animated cutscenes with voice tracks are quite a lot of fun. One of the best games for Sega CD in my opinion.

    So cheesy but great

    Such a classic. Such a good game. Way better than the Genesis version in my opinion with the cut scenes, music, and overall flow of the game. Must own if you have a Sega CD and like Spiderman.
