Excellent transaction! The ordered books were reasonable priced and fully match the description provided by the seller. Books are covered in a plastic transparant dustjacket. Shipment of the books was swift and in a sturdy parcel, in which the items were well wrapped in protective materials. Even though one of the delivered books was a different volume than the one ordered, the seller was prompt to come up with a satisfying solution. Thanks, great experience!

I purchased two books from this seller and they combined the shipping. I was actually credited BACK part of the shipping savings. Books were exactly as described and with new Brodart dust jacket covers. Mint condition. Books were packaged with care and were well protected. Shipping time was expeditious and the seller’s communication with me was above and beyond. I highly recommend and will definitely be doing business with again. Thanks so much.

Lawrence Block is a very good writer indeed, but like grand opera, anchovy pizza and a group of 4 year olds with kazoos, he isn't for everyone. This book concerns his most famous creation, PI Matthew Scudder. Scudder is an alcoholic, and much of his time is spent attending meetings and staying sober. However, this is not the general thrust of the stories. Usually, he is doing a favor for a friend, and complications ensue. Just like real life. The mysteries are well laid out, and the solutions are logical, not, as someone once wrote about some of the writers of the 30s and 40s, the murderer was a left handed pygmy with a blowgun. In other words, the last two chapters are not a detailed and confusing solution to the crime. Block can get very deep and extremely dark and his characters are ...
