I bought this book when I came upon it by accident at a bookstore: I needed it. I suffer from depression, and am a survivor of abuse from childhood into adulthood. I felt guilty about my wandering, up and down emotional swings. The simplicity of this books presentation of how all emotions have their days was exactly what I needed. Perhaps it spoke to that terrified, hurting child within, or to the adult who had never learned that having emotions, much less admitting to them, was alright. The book is a great gift to give to those adults who need to know that having feelings is fine. That there is nothing wrong with feelings, so-called good ones and bad ones. They are all just what they are. Your feelings. I have shared it with friends, shared it with support groups and my own counselor and psychiatrist, who have found it to be as priceless in communicating the ok-ness of all feelings, expressed beautifully and colorfully. Thanks to the family for going ahead and publishing Dr Seuss's words and for matching them to Lou Fancher's visuals. I do know that the book did not "have" to be published, and am most grateful that it was!Read full review
This book has great illustrations. Also it is not too Dr Suess "ish" with all the verses and such. It talks about the different emotions using colors and how they can feel. I like reading it with my daughter since she still has problems putting her feelings into words. With this book it helps to read it with them and talk about the feelings and then if she is feeling something during the day I can reference the book with her. Like are you feeling like the brown bear or grey owl? Very good book and worth the price. I prefer the paper pages over the cardboard one, just personal preference.
It came in the described co dictionary. Beautiful book, beautiful story. Very emotional to connect the colors with emotions and feelings.
