Pros + Trademark 'Call of Duty' small part of a big war action. + Realistic weapons & improved sniping & better tank driving than the previous installment. + Intense gameplay througout the whole game. Cons - Muddy texture compared to the glossy next-gen version. - No co-op. - No real improvements over 'Call of Duty 2' except for some new multiplayer stuff like being able to sprint. - Lots of glitches that make the game almost unplayable on harder difficulties like the CPU always knowing where you are & useless teammates. - Useless mini-games that attempt to break up boredem within the game. - Shortage of checkpoints. Comments There aren't many improvements to the series but there are quite a few more glitches. These glitches are usually obvious & frustrating to deal with. You will also get tired of playing levels over on harder difficulties because checkpoints are so rare during big battles. Driving still needs some work & the series needs to break away from the traditional 1st person shooter by allowing you to take cover or sprint. Sprinting is available in multiplayer but never in the campaign. But getting shot trying to peak around corners gets old, especially when the enemy can hit you with blind fire. This is still a solid game though & plenty of intense Nazi-fighting fun. Verdict Fun WWII game. Not a must have but if you are a fan don't pass it up.Read full review
This game is awesome I cant wait to sit down with a beer a just relax and fight in a war. there are several different levels that you can go through. some times it takes me a while to figure out what I have to do in certain parts of the game. An example of a game mess up for me is when I was moving up through the basement stairs and my team was behind me I went and moved forward then Back because I was being attacked and I could not move because a team member was in the way so I had to restart the level. But overall great graphics, Interesting character's. Excellent story line. I give it 4 stars. One of my Favorites.....
Call of Duty 3 utilizes the same identical gameplay as Call of Duty 2. If you like part 2, I would definitely add this to your buy list for Christmas. Let me break this down to categories:- 1. Graphics - 4.5 of 5 - Good eye candy game with lots of explosion everywhere. Video games players would appreciate the details put into the game. 2. Sound -4 of 5 - We all remember the loud and realistic sound from Call of Duty 2 right? Well, guess what? It is the same here with bigger explosions and more things flying around left and right. 3. Replay value 4 of 5 - After beating the single player mode, you can head on to the multiplayer mode and challenge a couple of people. Definitely a plus. 4. 1 player Campaign - 4 of 5 - Your team isn't totally smart. Same bug as part 2. There are acts where your teammates would just keep running into the mp-40 and get gunned down like sausages. Other than that, the occasional cover fire is there to help you advance. The vast majority of the campaign requires you to single handedly gun down Nazis with your guns. Sometimes it feels like you goto solo. Don't expect your A.I. too help you out too much. 5. Multiplayer - 5 of 5 - The high point of this game. Get a live subscription and let the killing begin. 6. Difficulty - 4 of 5 - It is not that hard. Just take it slow and play with the same strategies you used in Call of Duty 2 and you should be able to beat this game in 10-12 hours of game play. 7 Overall 4 of 5 - A good game to own. A definitely a must have game for the World War video games advocate. It has gorgeous graphics, amazing sound as always, and the multi player is definitely a plus to give this one a must buy for Christmas.Read full review
Not as good as CoD2 though. Game play just wasn't quite as good. If you haven't played CoD2 yet you'll probably love this game. If you have, you'll still like this game but you'll be disappointed in not having checkpoints closer together, a kind of awkward feel and your squad leading you into sure death. Even though you're supposed to fight as a unit you find that you have to ignore the suggestions and directions and go it alone in some places. But it's still the best WWII game on the market. Hence the 4 out of 5 stars. Enjoy it!
A wonderful game that allows the player to fight four Allied Nations. There are the Americans, British, Canadians and Polish chapters. A surprising addition to this game is your ability to go hand to hand against German soldiers. Unlike other games where you simply melee attack the enemy, Call of Duty 3 allows you to fight for weapon, usually a k98 Mauser. Incredible detailed graphics both environmentally and physical aspects of the player's squadmates. During game play, you can find yourself dying because something was blocking your way. This was extremely fustrating when you needed to find a thrown grenade back at the enemy or avoiding it. A problem with the grenade throwing feature is aiming. You sacrifice grenade accuracy for weapon accuracy. Looking through the sights is wonderful to pick off distant MG-42 gunners. Overall a wonderful game to play by yourself or with your friends over and over agin.Read full review
