Still a classic, gracing your screen in HD thanks to Blu-Ray
This movie is an absolute classic. There really is no other way to say it. This movie has set standards for psychological horror that have never been met, let alone surpassed. The AFI lists Hannibal Lecter as the number 1 villain in film history, entirely because of this movie, and Clarice Starling is number 6 best hero. This is one of the few movies to have ever won all five major Academy Awards: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay (adapted), and Best Picture. It deserved every award. This movie should be in every collection of films. The atmosphere, the cinematography, everything about this movie is finely crafted and honed. Not only that, but there are a surprising number of quotables that I have found can instantly identify people with whom one would enjoy talking. ... This movie is an absolute classic. Great movie, great bonus material
Very pleased with it. Bonus material is excellent. Note: the dvd included is fullscreen, not widescreen. But it turned out to be a good thing, cause it's open matte, so you get more information on top and bottom of the screen.
