    Inexpensive option beats the alternative

    If you can narrow your controller's failure to the main module, this is all you need. I couldn't find the main module as a separate part on Rainbird's website, which left me the option of buying an entire controller and stripping out the failed module for a replacement. Instead, using this part got my system working again at a fraction of the cost.

    Replaced Expansion Module with this one.

    Before you call in a repair person for your irrigation system, you might try replacing the modules that easily slide in and lock. Replacing the expansion module in my Rainbird control panel restored my zones.
