    Though a few years old, better than ANY "junk brand" new portable dvd player

    This is a quality durable unit, after i wore out my 8 year old unit, i made mistake of buying an off brand highly rated new dvd player....a brand i never heard of (magnet box, GPN, EXP, etc...yeah)...anyway, bought used sony like i used to have...just the best

    Loud but works well

    It is a very high quality DVD player. It has many features and the picture is very clear. I just wish it wasn't so loud as the DVD is spinning. I use this in an upstairs bedroom I call my War Room. Across from this room is my daughter and grand son's bedroom. I'm unable to have the volume up loud enough to drown out the loud spinning. Headphones do help though. All in all it was a good buy.

    dvp vs dvd ac vs dc

    Haven't actually used it yet. I also have the dvd-fx820 which works really well. used primarily to view mini-discs from my sony camcorder. a regular dvd player is not built to handle the smaller disc. Now I have ordered an adapter cord (ac) to be able to use the dvp player just like the dvd player. I will give the dvd player to my son who also has a sony camcorder. Neat.

    Great deal
