Excellent casting in the gripping thriller. Typically 90's but still holds the audience. LOVED IT

The quality of the DVD is brilliant and a brilliant film i would recommend to anyone. The thrilling climatic final scene is captured excellently and the DVD version is much more viewable as opposed to the VHS version i had. Macauley Culkin is extremely convincing as the emotionally disturbed Henry and is backed up by excellent supporting portrayals from Wendy Crewson as the loving mother who must follow her head, rather than her heart. Elijah Wood's performance is simply flawless, a young boy coming to terms with his mother's death and try to understand his cousin's behaviour and stop him in his evil quest before its too late, with Wood showing real emotion and verve as the character of Mark. The only flaw in the film is that it is a little bit of a slow burner, it does take a while to disperse into the main plot, but it is understandable considering the sub plot of Mark's grief and mourning. All in all though a classic film, one to buy and recommend to others.Read full review
Yet another good example of the acting ability of those so young. And of course much food for thought.
What i like about this dvd as it makes you think whats going to happen next and sents a chill down your spine, when i first watched this movie, it was not what i expected but better. I deceided to buy this dvd because i had never seen it before and it stared Macaulay Culkin, one of my favourite actors, and i had never seen a thriller/horror, that he had started in before.
