Pretty happy with this overall.
It’s just a piece of glass with a little handle you attach onto it with sticky tape. The back doesn’t have the notches to allow the filter cords to go through. However I read that you can simply take it to a glass cutter and since it’s so small some might cut it for free. Over all it serves its purpose. I mainly just want it so that the water doesn’t evaporate. At first glance you can’t tell that anything is wrong with it.It’s just a piece of glass with a little handle you attach onto it with sticky tape. Does NOT have a hinge or vinyl strip that can be trimmed for accessories, nor does it have notched corners. Simply a piece a glass, a small plastic handle, and small strip of 3M tape to attach handle to glass. But, to be frank, there aren't that many other options out there for this size tank.

It is a good fitting top for a Aqueon 2-1/2 gallon tank. Only caveat is it does not have a hinge or plastic strip in back to cut for filter or heater etc.,I took mine to a glass shop, had him cut off the corners so I can get air tubes and heater wire into tank. Fits snug seems strong,worked for me.

Wish it had a hinged lid
I wonder why Aqueon didn't make the 12 inch top with a hinge and an open gap in the back for wires and tubing like the larger size lids have. But I bought it nonetheless with this in mind. I currently sit it on my 2.5 gallon tank, with a small 2cm gap in the left side for tubing and pothos plants. Not the way it's meant to sit, but works as long as nothing knocks it over. Arrived way earlier than expected. Installation instructions very easy: just stick the handle on. Wrong size
I ordered the the Aqueon aquarium topper and it was it was just too small. It should have been 12" by 6" but it's a quarter of an inch short on one side and a half an inch too short on the other side. I just decided to keep it and just tape it on to the tank. However. I wouldn't recommend ordering from them because they get their measurements absolutely wrong!
