It does the job for small applications or short runs. Prolonged use and the flex shaft attachment gets almost too hot to hold. I remedied by wrapping the grip with a silicone grip. There is some wobble right out of the box. Not the best bearings, but paid just over $20 so to be expected. If you are not doing super precision work, I think this will be fine for most hobbyists. It is a good entry level rotary tool for the weekend warrior, but not for serious precision applications or long term use. The pros: nice variable speed, you get a lot with the kit. Just about everything you need to do any task, handy case with extra case to hold all your bits, cost is low enough to fit anybodies budget. Great gift for a young teen with supervision. Cons: Not the easiest bit changing on the flex shaft. Wobble and just a cheap feel compared to competitors (however, you get what you pay for) Buy one. you won't be disappointed.Read full review

I checked the rotary drill for operation and it seems to work well on the various speeds. The accessories appear intact and the extension accessory is also included. I am not very impressed with the tool case, as it seems very cheap in quality, but everything else seems good!

Reason for only 3 stars is because the flex shaft included is of poor quality, you have to hold it just right for it to spin the proper speed and power. As for the rotary tool itself and other bits included it is great, just as good as the actual dremel brand work great!

This tool kit is complete for the kind of work I do. I am pleased with it's features, appearance, and operation. The speed range makes it possible to adjust to the material you are cutting/drilling. The torque is adequate for most household projects. I especially like the extension assembly that allows one to work on delicate items without the weight of the motor interfering.

Ok wen here we go, for the price cad of what 37$ great deal, pro's unlike other lower cost rotory tools the flex shaft has held up quite well under load , the only issue i had was that i turned the unit on a few times and it would not run, one of the brushes was not set properly tge spring was bent inside the brush opening. Another small problem is that the provided drill bits vibrate when running them, the reason was that the supplied dril bits were too long i had to cut them shorter that seemed to fix the problem. If you intend on buying a mini drill chuck for the unit and use it on the flex shaft you will need to trim down the plastic outer casing on the flexshaft tool holder or else the chuck will press against the tool holder when screwed to tight up. The tool is well built, in past when i bought cheeper rotory tools the first thing that went was the ajustable speed control dial i have about 200 hrs on this tool the speed control dial has not failed at all plus a nice feature is they give you a ring so you hang the tool while using the flex shaft. I have noticed the tool gets hot though but this is due to saw dust getting into the motor housing, if you have this problem just use a shop vac hose which will eliminate the heating problem. All in all a great tool the accesseries very good just watch the brushes and keep the dust out of the housing and many years of service will be received. Thanks china. One other item, it would be nice if they included a set of spare brushes in the kit.Read full review

This is a reasonable alternative to the brand name multi purpose tool when price is a concern. I use it in jewelry making and other repairs where larger size tools are ineffective. I'm an amateur and this product suits my purpose perfectly.

I bought this to replace my Dremel in my Drill Press but I was not pleased with it. The problem is that the chuck insert is not the same size as a true Dremel, it is slightly larger which caused a huge wobble when I tried to use my dremel chucks on it. I haven't found any "replacement" chucks for this unit so for now it is just using the tools that came with it and they work fine. Another down side is it is REALLY loud compared to my 2 dremels. All that said if you just plan on using the tools that came with it and don't mind a little noise it works fine and is a pretty decent rotary tool for the price.

The cut-off wheel works about as well as sandpaper trying to cut steel. It works, but takes a long time. The motor simply has very little torque. Also the cut-off spindle is off center which allows the wheel to wobble a bit. The cut is not very accurate or controllable. The motor is barely strong enough to run a directly connected tool so it does NOT have enough power to run a tool at the end of the flex shaft. That feature is worthless. Is it a good value? Well it's inexpensive. Is it good quality? Well it runs and doesn't break. Would not recommend to others, and I will not buy again. Usable only for inaccurate cuts & grinding only on very small items.

Excellent! Fixed the valves on my expensive trumpet like a pro, saved hundreds od dollars and cut plumbing pipes, all with one tool. Saved more dollars. In other words, it paid for itself, and then some. The tools are too fragile and breaks easily. Be careful

I bought this Wen tool for my studio, which is not in my home but at a local art center. I have a Dremel at home, which I use frequently for grinding and shaping small, parts and tools. The Wen has good power, and the flex shaft may come in useful at some point, but all I have done so far is to try it out to insure that it works OK. The tool has a variable speed control, which goes from a crawl (with little torque) to a usable range of mid- and high-speed outputs. The kit came in a plastic case, which, as is often the case, is too small once the power cord has been unfurled. Included in the case was a plastic box containing various collets (chucks) and grinding and polishing attachments. I would rate this tool excellent, but it does have one flaw, which is that the brass collets (which are slightly too large to fit my Dremel) do not fit shafts smaller than one-eighth inch. They do not fit the two small drills included in the box. Moreover, any tool with a long shaft will not be well-supported by these brass collets, resulting in the base if the shaft getting out of parallel with the motor shaft. This causes the working end of the drill, grindstone, or whatever, to rotate off-center, causing chatter. The only cure I can see is to have a tool that barely protrudes beyond the chuck.Read full review
