this was a great TV series that I only discovered much later on PBS during (perhaps ) their 2nd or 3rd rebroadcasting. Dry humor and wit in each episode, especially between the seasoned unflappable Chief Inspector Barnaby and his hapless sidekick detective. Great British countryside settings and a never ending supply of remarkable characters, often in guest roles from other branches of BBS television and British theatre.this was a great TV series that I only discovered much later on PBS during (perhaps ) their 2nd or 3rd rebroadcasting. The characters are all so engaging and real they draw you into the mystery. So well done no matter how you try to outwit what is happening it is always a surprise even for those who love mysteries and watch very many of them. No adornment, just the unraveling of a murder or two in each episode. Once you start watching the series there is no going back.

The quality of the recording was excellent. The DVDs were packaged attractively and the content was great! I really enjoy murder mysteries and I love the way Barnaby and his family interact. He seems like a really good man. I can really get into the plots. I wanted to buy it because the price was not bad and I like to be able to watch my favorites whenever I want to instead of waiting for them to come on the satellite. I liked the fact that there were five DVDs. I only wish there were more!The quality of the recording was excellent. The DVDs were packaged attractively and the content was great!
