Bluesound Powernode nice upgrade from Powernode 2 Bluesound great product
The Bluesound Powernode is a nice upgrade over the Bluesound Poernode 2. HDMI allows you to connect to your TV and Apple Airplay allows very easy connections so I can play music from apple devices through my bluesound player. The appearance is an upgrade from the Powernode 2 and the ability to have presets on the unit along with a volume slider is a nice upgrade. It easily hooks into th network. The power is up from 60 watts to 80 watts and the DAC and processor are better. I bought my original Bluesound system. Two node 2 Two powernode 2 and a Vault 2i as well as a Pulse mini 2 over 10 years ago and they have lasted. My original Vault did last about 5 years and I upgraded to the Vault 2i 5 years ago which has worked perfectly. The ability to rip all my CD's from 4 years of collecting ... I've not used sonos which is the market leader but the quality of the Blusound and high resolution FLAC files that I have is more in keeping with my commitment to high end audio. I also just added the Bluesound sub+ subwofer and it is terrific to add punch to the sound of the system in my small vacation home with small bookshelf speakers . I was able to mount it on the wall on the shelf below my TV so it takes up no floorspace. Overall Bluesound is a superb well thought out product.
