    Definitely one of their best

    Pod is a great CD from The Breeders. Their next one - Last Splash - may be more popular but that's mainly because it's a bit m ore accessible and perhaps mainstream, though "mainstream" doesn't really apply here. I listened to all the Breeders CD's again recently, including their latest (Mountain Battles), and found Pod to be the most thoroughly listenable and consistent of them all. That may be because it also sounds (to my ears, at least) the most like The Pixies of all their releases. The main drawback to Pod is that Kelly Deal was not yet a part of The Breeders and her absence is definitely felt, though the Pod lineup is great, too.

    Glorious

    Pod is a good rocking grungy slightly psychadelic hodgepode of songs that works well. I tend to be one of those who considers Last Splash to be the Masterpiece but Pod is still a great album in my book. Standout tracks include Glorious, Oh!, and Opened. 3 1/2 Stars.
