I have shot with the Pentax 55-300mm plm lens several times. Still getting use to the longer focal lengths and the settings to achieve the most creative photo. Switched from Manuel mode to shutter and ISO priority. The results were good but sometimes over exposed. Changed to the manual settings, better image quality. This lens has the best focus system Pentax has produced. I will need more shooting experience to give a more detailed review. So far a thumbs up!

Color reproduction: I can not get enough :) Small aberrations. I bought it in the fall with the teleconverter. And at first I was disappointed. Lens rather for the streets and good weather. But I also didn't take into account the fact that the "long lens" the shorter must be the exposure. Since autumn and winter I rarely photographed on the street (I do not like to shoot in cold weather, watery eyes, cold hands). In winter I took pictures of the moon, focused only by hand - the result was very happy. But spring came. I uncovered it and went to take a picture. Since then, most of the time hanging on the carcass is 55-300. I liked to shoot them portraits. The background is beautifully blurred. If you compare with competitors from Sigma and Tamron, they just have terrible aberrations.

Big improvement over the older model. Very fast and silent focus.
