The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell in stereo, sourced directly from the four-track masters at Abbey Road Studios in London, and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin.     We hope you will enjoy the show

    For the first time, SGT peppers sounds like a rock band and not a George Martin production trick. First realization: Paul McCartney was a great bass player - he could play walking contrapuntal lines that somehow manage to rock without sounding overly pretentious. But Ringo – oh my god. I’m 56 and I finally get it on this new mix. Everyone else was playing so ornately, so Ringo realized he had to play simply, but his sense of time is just so natural and steady, and he knew just where to switch it up. Sometimes he trips up the beat like Keith Moon does during transitions to keep things moving, but he is much more subtle about it. I hate having to rebuy music, but I don’t regret this.

    It Was 50 Years Ago Today???

    I can't believe it's been that long, but this re-mix/re-master of Sgt. Pepper reminds me why the Beatles are arguably the #1 band of the 20th century. To me, the songs stand the test of time, the lyrics are in a league of their own, and the new Giles Martin version takes greatness and makes it even better (listen to the CD with good headphones...yeoww!). A fitting tribute to the band that changed popular music and influenced virtually every band that came after them.

    Sgt Peppers remastered

    The album that changed music was remastered with perfection. I remember the 1st time I heard Peppers as a freshman in college and it definitely left a mark it was and is a defining moment in time and now it has been updated to today’s audio standards. The bass percussion and vocals have such warmth the genius of this masterpiece just jumps out. I hope this becomes the trend for other great albums of this era. I’m blown away

    Note: Remastered.

    Please note that this recording is REMASTERED. As a result some of the songs will not "sound" as remembered. It is almost as if they are "alternate takes". Thus the not fully "recommend" or "quality". One needs to take this into consideration. Of course the songs -- the whole album -- is great music.

    Great re-master!

    This latest remaster is fantastic, Ringo's drums are more up front, Paul's bass is clearer and the album is clearer than before. You can hear detail that was muddy before. Listen to the crowd in Sgt Pepper and you will instantly appreciate the clarity. The entire album sounds as never before.
