NotesLive archive release. This album represents the first-ever official release of Creedence Clearwater Revival's legendary Woodstock performance in it's entirety. CCR were one of the few bands to appear at Woodstock, who had already achieved notable chart success. However, for many their appearance flew under the radar - largely in part to the band not appearing in the movie or the soundtrack which were released post-festival. Their hour-long set took place shortly after midnight on 17 August 1969, a later than planned start due to the Grateful Dead's set over-running. Kicking off with "Born on the Bayou," the album features the band's biggest singles of the day, plus selections off their first three LPs, including "Commotion," "Ninety-Nine and a Half (Won't Do)" and "Bootleg." Full of creative energy, John, Tom, Stu, and Doug delve deep into their music, playing extended improvisations of "I Put a Spell on You," "Keep on Chooglin'" and "Suzie Q."

CCR at Woodstock one of the greatest Live albums ever !
Creedence Clearwater Revival is an American classic rock band whose music lifted a generation and is still popular today. This is the best "Live" CD available and being from the legendary Woodstock concert makes it all the more magical. The sound quality is astonishing and the band is at the peak of their musicianship. Each track is as powerful as the original studio version or actually better. What really stands out is the extended jams showing just how talented each member was, but the true honors go to John Fogerty with his amazing vocals, solid lead guitar and harmonica playing. Even if you have all the other CCR albums, it's not complete without the 11 songs played at Woodstock.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

No question this is CCR's finest live CD! I have AII the others. The Woodstock performance is exceptional here, and the recording quality is surprisingly GOOD considering it was 50 years ago, and a mudfest at Woodstock. Better sound than expected! The amazing versions of "Keep on Chooglin" and "Suzy Q" are the highlights with those songs both clocking in about 10 minutes each of John Fogerty jamming and improvising on guitar with fuzz, and feedback, and distortion etc. Fogerty might be the most underrated guitarist of his era. This is "sh_tkicking" American rock n roll. WHY this disc/album wasn't released 40 years ago is a ball scratcher? If you are a CCR fan, BUY THIS CD! It's superb!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
