Synopsis
In Search of the Crystal Stair is a snapshot of Boston's urban community in the 1950s and 60s. Maxine, the main character grows up in a large extended family, consisting of her grandmother, mother, step father, aunts, cousins and seven brothers and sisters. She learns early on that the crystal stair is a difficult climb, and obstacles often cause one to make detours or make difficult decisions. Follow Maxine through her transitions in life as she travels from Boston to the ancient city of Mekka, in search of the Crystal Stair.
