Few British actresses share the legacy of Dame Diana Rigg (b. 1938), one of the most celebrated of all English players in television, film and theater. Rigg's career, of course, began with a bang, as she shot to national fame in her late 20s and early 30s, portraying spy Emma Peel on the series THE AVENGERS (1965-68), and the wife of James Bond in the feature ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE (1969). But in lieu of being content to remain a gorgeous ingénue known for slick action roles, Rigg built on her initial fame, establishing a reputation as a versatile and multifaceted thespian. This box set highlights the best of Rigg's work for BBC television, including selections from the series MRS. BRADLEY MYSTERIES and THREE PIECE SUITE, the 1989 episode of THE PLAY ON ONE titled UNEXPLAINED LAUGHTER, the 1982 BBC PLAY OF THE MONTH episode LITTLE EYOLF, and the 1993 SCREEN TWO episode GENGHIS COHN.

    Love me some Diana Rigg any time

    This lady first caught my attention when I was very young in The Avengers. We never missed an episode. She has gone on to continue amazing artistry; my 2 nd favorite character is Mrs. Bradley. That speaks well for anyone in any profession!
