    Great product if it worked.

    The only problem is that it does not work! I tried lots things and also had a competent computer technician try to get it to work without success. The only aspect that did actually work was the card reader but nothing else. Would you please advise what you want me to do with this item and whether it can be replaced with a known working unit. I still need one of these to save data from an old HDD and would be happy to receive a working replacement. Please advise. Thank you.

    Just a great Unit, I fully recommend it to anyone with computer issues.

    This product is robust, well designed, versatile and works better than expected. It takes a variety of drive hardware and fukllfils my expectations. We had it unpacked and set up in minutes and recovered a 300 Gig hard drive that came out of a defunct desktop computer with vital data on it. I am so pleased with this unit that it sits in a prime spot on my office desk ready for any event necessary.

    Easy setup

    This enabled me to access two laptop hard drives from broken laptops. I was able to archive missing files using the device. It was easy to attach to a USB port and worked fine.

    Works well, a bit fiddly for IDE drives

    I had some old IDE HDDs that I wanted to recover information from. This unit can accommodate both SATA and IDE HDDs, and can have one of each loaded concurrently. I found one of my old IDE HDDs a bit difficult to connect, as the HDDs have to fit into the docking station, not the other way around. But a bit of gentle pushing got it in and all worked fine. The connection for the IDE drive is a bit more fiddly. Setup is easy-plug in the power, the USB connection to the computer and of course insert the HDD. Flick the power switch on, that's it! If you have the great idea of using your old HDDs for spare storage, well you could, but in my case I had <40 GB on both HDDs-I can buy memory sticks bigger than that! So, if I decide I don't want to keep them, then I can use this to do a proper ...
