Product Information

A figure skater turns to teaching after her partner suffers a debilitating injury, and later summons the courage to get back out on the ice by teaming with a rebellious speed-skater with a bad reputation. Alexandria "Alex" Delgado (Francia Raisa) and her skating partner were absolutely inseparable - both on and off of the ice. So when he gets injured, she decides to take a break from skating. Meanwhile, as Alex turns to teaching as a means of making ends meet, James Van Behr (Berndan Fehr) gets banned from speed skating, and decides she would be the perfect figure skating partner. Though their skills on the ice prove a perfect match, their constant bickering off the ice makes a future as a skating duo look unlikely at best. Now, with the gold in reach once again, Alex attempts struggles to stay focused on winning as their growing mutual attraction begins to thaw her icy cold demeanor.

    In spite of its being 4th in the series it is no slouch

    All four of the "Cutting Edge" series are good movies and are entertaining. I give each around 4 stars. This one, however, is my sentimental favorite because its two central characters are written to be equals from the start. They are equals in many ways: To mention a few they both started poor and struggled to learn and do the skating they both love, they are both fighters for what they think right and they share the same values. As in all four of the Cutting Edge movies there is a massive blow up near the end that is caused by lack of maturity. Remember this is competitive figure skating where the peak of performance is in the mid 20's. That is not the age of actual maturity which comes later for both men and women. These two learn a good deal about it together as the movie progresses; ...
