    Good at what it meant

    I had another 12" knife and it felt unwieldy and almost dangerous,....just handle and balance and design, My knife skills are now better than then, but I was still able to tell a good knife from bad. Now I feel a balanced, controllable, and nice feel from bad. I deliberately used it for normal slicing and dicing and while it of course not ideal (it's ridiculously big on the bench), it was never awkward or dangerous. Do not buy this to chop veggies because "a big knife is cool"....it's meant to butcher meat. But it seems to do that so easily and well, and it feels good to work with.
