    Great home intercom at a bargain price

    I wasn't expecting much from a refurbished Radio Shack intercom, but I felt even if it was just a marginal performer, it would be better than trying to communicate from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor of my house by screaming. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this unit works perfectly, with no annoying hum when it's on and a clear tone when you are speaking on it. I've had much pricier intercoms in my office that didn't work half as well as this one.

    Quality seems good as I expected. Before buying I saw some reviews of similar units that warned of FM interference. I took a chance. There is annoying interference/buzz whenever communicating. For my intended use it is unacceptable. It may be acceptable in some noisy business settings or for infrequent use.

    Don't Use The Stairs, Use Intercoms!

    I have five of these, around the house. Each of my kids has their own channel I can call them on, in their rooms, when I need them. This has saved us all SO many trips up and down the stairs. It's too bad Radio Shack doesn't sell these anymore, but it's great to be able to buy them used, here on eBay.

    HORRIBLE Performance!

    They arrived, look new! but all they do is buzz, really poor performance on all channels.Wont work in most of the rooms. We put one in each bedroom, the kitchen and the shop.Lucky if we can get from one room to another. Very Disappointing.

    Better than I thought

    Suddenly no more running up and down the stairs while getting ready for work, to ask my wife in the kitchen a question. Kids can not bail on dinner, saying "I didn't hear you call," and the clincher? It even works on our off site unattached to the house and 20 yards away basement/garage.
