The box was opened at the corner, I am guessing from the postal system. The VHS/DVD recorder did not work without the remote. Had I known that I would not have purchased it. Purchased a universal remote and could record to DVD. The front bezel door was broken off. Something I was not aware of until I received it. All in all, the item did function but I would recommend to do your home work. I still recommend this seller.
