      New is always new. Aftermarket parts can be good even not being original from Land Rover.

      This rotary coupling was installed 5 days ago in my Discovery 3. It is working flawlessly. The original one had a problem and the airbag light stayed on all the time. I tried a used one that my mechanic got for me but it lasted only 2 days without bringing the airbag light back on. This new one looks like to have solved the issues. A few more weeks and we will know for sure.
