This is a great metal album
Powerslave is one of the heaviest IRON MAIDEN metal albums. The dual-guitar harmonies are spot-on and utilized to their fullest. The vocals hit their peak and every line compliments the music perfectly. The songwriting really takes a solid step up, as every song is well executed and well played. The riffs and harmonies are very catchy and easy-to-listen to, and the guitar solos all seem to suit their respective songs much better. Aces High with a fantastic vocals and wonderful throttling bass-lines; 2 Minutes To Midnight an amazing tune with a magnificent chorus and solos highlight this amazing album. Losfer Words (Big 'Orra) is a great Maiden instrumental. It's a high octane eighties metal riffage at its finest. The title track is a beautiful progressive complex heavy metal number with oriental influences. In the middle, there's a lovely melodic interlude and bass work followed by a fantastic guitar lead and lengthy drum fill. The epic closer, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, has an amazing story and a great atmospheric middle section. The guitars really drive, vocals are powerful, the drums are mighty and dynamic. It's one of the most progressive songs from this band. Truly, every song is amazing and has something to offer. The production is one of the band's best ever. This is a great metal album.
