The Roku interface for all devices uses old keyboard entry that is needed for set-up. Other features are as advertised and it is so economical I can't kick. The basic Roku unit is only good when used close to the wifi router. Awesome Streaming Device - I Bought SIX!
The ROKU Streaming Stick is an amazing TV add-on and it works so well I bought 6 and installed them on every TV in my home, even my smart TV’s. By combining the ROKU with a Mohu Leaf air antenna, mounted in my attic, we’re able to have a very large selection of channels on all our TV’s. Streaming movies is a breeze and the Streaming Stick is easy to install and operate. I did have to buy a Streaming Stick PLUS for the TV located farthest from my Wi-Fi, because the standard stick kept dropping the signal. The SS Plus works great and eliminated that problem. Upgraded to this from an older Roku Express and WOW what a difference. Picture quality is amazing - it's like I have a whole new TV. This Roku stick is easy to setup and use. It works great and is small enough to take with you on a trip and use on another TV. The remote can be programmed to control the power and volume of the TV that it is hooked up to, which can eliminate using the TV remote. The microphone feature works well too and gives the user another way to choose content to watch. The Good, the Bad, and the Disappointing about this device.
I have mixed feelings about this purchase. On one hand, this device offers a wide selection of programming. But on the other hand, it was quite tedious to set up and, perhaps most disappointingly, the remote has no mute button. Frankly, I think the suppliers should send all those who purchase this device an updated remote that includes the "mute" option, free of charge. What good is a remote with no MUTE? For such a tiny device the Roku stick has big performance. Navigates menus quick, loads movies fast and is small enough to stick in your pocket if you are traveling. Good and pretty simple streaming stick
Roku is pretty simple and easy to set up, operate and use. The verity of apps is pretty good. You can also install unsupported apps through the web ui which will add a pretty good amount of additional channels to your Roku. One of the noticeable drawbacks to my opinion is that you cannot search apps but you can use the phone app although it's not available in every country meaning if you want to install it you need to download it from a third party site. Another drawback is that there is no app store and some of the channels and management is scattered across multiple ui's( web, Roku device, phone app). Put all things aside, Roku is pretty simple to operate and it works great, Im streaming 1080p flawlessly...Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
