    MRC Tech II 2500 train controllers

    Have had 3 for many years and worked well for my layouts. Now the ones i have bought off ebay have been about 50/50 as to work great to need repair. But they haved aged and some will require some cleaning internally from the acid flux used on these boards years ago when made. Some components have gone bad and require replacement. Not very difficult to repair with basic electronic knowledge. Access requires a security torc #25 bit to open and does require unsoldering some parts to get to components that need replaced. I like the case and features of the case so may over time gut the components and build better cleaner design inside them . They work great in conventional train layout. Going digital it would be best to go with better power pack.

    Super Reliability and Control!

    These fine units have tremendous control capability. Yes, they are older models, and YES, they are for DC control, but that is what I run and these do a great job for me. Why change a good thing? Dance with who brung ya - TECH II is The BEST!

    Good Deal, quick shipping, and 1st class communication

    I'm just getting back into the hobby after a few decades away and owned this item before. It was great to get a solid power DC pack at a great price. I may get into dcc some day, but this is as good as it gets for DC operation. I have been able to get some 50 y/o engines to "tie crawl" with it and am very happy to own a copy again

    MRC Tech II

    For those of us still interested in running 12V DC instead of DCC, this is a quality power supply. I have tried others and they simply do not measure up. While not the most powerful, I intend to use this in a switching yard which this can easily handle and recommend it over train set power supplies if you are looking to upgrade your layout.
