Top quality seller, communication & item! The book arrived extremely quickly in a well packaged & stuffed box to prevent movement. The book itself was also wrapped in paper inside the box as an extra measure to help it arrive in best condition & prevent damage. The item fits the description perfectly (actually was better than anticipated). Seller provided the best communication & attention to detail that I’ve ever experienced while making an EBay purchase. Highly recommend & trustworthy.

Thank you so much! I am so happy to that you are pleased with your purchase and my service. I'm thrilled that it has found a new home with someone who appreciates it. I feel sometimes like I'm saving these lesser known books and hoping somewhere in the wide world the person who is meant to have them will find them. You've been a great customer and I'm so happy you have this book :).

  • An important book and very well written.

The book describes the 5 days in May 1940 when Winston Churchill became prime minister replacing Neville Chamberlin and staved off negotiations with the Nazis, There were important members of Churchill's cabinet (in particular Lord Halifax) who were pushing hard for negotiations with Hitler. Churchill would have none of it, and it finally led to the total destruction Nazi Germany. This is very important in the history of the world because the Germans could not say, this time, they were stabbed in the back as they did at the end of WW I because there was an armistice and not an unconditional surrender. Roosevelt set the terms this time there would be unconditional surrender.

  • Five Days in London May 1940

A little known story of a few days in May written by a fine historian who went to the sources. Not only does he produce a fine historical volume but his style is clear without obfuscations. I highly recommend the volume, it was almost totally clean, the only underlining was two small setences. I was delighted with my purchase. John Catan Ph.D.

  • Britain chooses not to go the way of France

A history of WHY Britain continued to fight Germany in May of 1940. This is usually glossed over as inevitable, but it was anything but certain. A GREAT read.
