High performance, works reliably, silent with SSD
Works exactly as shown! Does exactly what I want it to do and works perfectly! When configuring the device for single drive use, any existing drive in place will need to be formatted when configuring. It appears that the device’s RAID mode can’t be configured without any drives installed. Other than that it’s good! I use this over thunderbolt as a boot drive to speed up an old 2014 iMac with thunderbolt 1.0. With the iMac running off of an SSD in the device, the iMac starts up quickly as if it were running an SSD internally. Thunderbolt is still fast and still useful while this device certainly has saved me the time of opening up the iMac to replace the hard drive with an SSD and it makes use of the very unused thunderbolt ports on the back of the iMac that haven’t seen use since 2014-2015 Five stars as it’s exactly what I needed
