although it contains everything you would ever need to know about edible and medicinal plants, it is a bit long and dry in some of the chapters. of course, if you are having to depend upon yourself for edibles and medicinals, this would be the book to have in your hands when you first start out.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Worth the purchase. Don't let the black and white pictures detour you.
Pros- Has very good info on the identification of plants, where found, what part is edible, how to eat or use and some of the similar plats to be aware of and there differences. A must have for foraging. Cons- Pictures are in black and white BUT, a person can easily find color pictures and add it to the book or make your own addendum, which most people will do with any book that they feel needs more info.
