      The Britains 4.7 inch gun arrived safely, having been well wrapped in bubble wrap and contained in a stout cardboard box. It is exactly as described and illustrated in the photographs, and in working order as the seller replied to my question. I'm very pleased to have obtained this piece of wargame history (the early model gun used by HG Wells in 'Little Wars' at a reasonable price. Thank you!
