Recorded in 1963, Una Mas was the first album to feature the dynamic frontline of trumpeter Kenny Dorham and tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson, a potent team that would go on to collaborate on numerous classic albums under each musician's name including Henderson's debut album Page One which was recorded just 2 months later. Along with a tremendous rhythm section of Herbie Hancock, Butch Warren, and Tony Williams, the quintet delivers joyous performances of three Dorham originals.

Underrated trumpet player in jazz
Kenny Dorham is jazz most underrated trumpet player.Composer,arranger and with great ideas ,his trumpet sound is unique and personal, his command of the instrument exceptional at the service not only of sound but expression.Una Mas is beautiful sounding album with great arrangements and creative soloing from every player.The sound is great surfaces are silent what more can you ask.Buy it.Kenny's albums are a treasure; any of them.Great music.
