Super Fast and Quiet plus easy to clone Hard Drive Software from Samsung - It's a Winner!!
No more slow and noisy! Much faster than the original hard drive. Plus no more noise! That got old, especially when using my computer at night time when everything else is quiet. I replaced a 1TB HDD with a 2TB SSD in my Dell Inspiron One 2330 All-In-One computer that I purchased brand new in 2014. Also upgraded the Ram from 8GB to 16GB. It works Great! Much faster and quieter than it ever was. After watching a few YouTube videos I was able to install it myself. Samsung has their Data Migration software that will clone your Hard Drive in less than an hour. The whole installation was Very Easy to do. I took a chance buying this SSD and got lucky. I just saved myself $2000 that I was going to spend on a brand new computer. I'm going to the Casino instead. Just to by myself a Steak dinner and celebrate. Also the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are both over $300 Million right now, so I plan on buying a few tickets for each one. Greatly improves speed over HDD.
I have it plugged into my 12 year old X58 Extreme motherboard using a LSI SAS 9212 RAID controller in a PCIe 2.0 x16 slot. This is giving me read/write speeds in the 570-590 MB/sec range compared to my SATA II hard drive speed of 130 MB/sec. I can now claim a "snappy" system again! The Samsung data migration software worked perfectly, I just followed some online advice to do a chkdsk on the hard drive first to repair any errors before attempting the migration. I guess I will have to update this in 5 years or so when I have a better idea of the longevity. Based on my experience so far I would recommend getting one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Quicker boot up time.
it replaced by dying Hard Drive, and was easy to replace my entire system. This 2TB SSD replaced my 2TB WD Disk drive, and is much quicker to boot up. Although, I did loose my Calculator. Amazing for games.
As a heavy gamer and needing fast speed to load games up. This is way up for the task. I play a lot of games, and having a fast hard drive to pull the data from is always a nice thing. Very good product but not good as 860 EVO
I am very satisfied with Samsung 870. Work very well. But if I had a choice between the 870 and 860, I would definitely (or definitively) choose the 860. Although the 860 is a bit slower, the 860 out-performs the 870 when it comes to copying (Mirror imaging) errors; I have to go do some correction manually as I have an old laptop. For Window 7, the better buy is the 860 but the 870 will do if you can get the errors out of the way. Just saying . . . nevertheless, I am giving the Samsung 870 5 stars. See what happens with Crucial, WD or Sandisk. And one more issue that I have with Samsung is that they took off the imaging/mirroring program from their website. Good thing that I have Samsung mirroring program saved. Otherwise, you'd have to get from a 3rd party.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Solid SSD - Not Worried About Running Out of Space
The 870 EVO is a solid SSD. At 2TB there is plenty of space for over-provisioning and still have lots of working space. I verified the volume on the drive before using it and it checks out, so it is a solid value for under $150 for this quality and space.
