  • Replacement for Mach 3

    Another person reviewed this speaker as a replacement for the woofer in the Radio Shack Optimus Mach 3. I had a slightly different experience with mine but it went well. The diameter of the speaker is slightly larger than the Mach 3's woofer hole and would not fit. I opened the hole in the cabinet with a belt sander. The screw hole pattern did not line up but it is a simple matter to drill new holes. I used the belt sander again to sand the fiber retaining ring on the speakers at a 45 degree angle. After that the plastic trim ring would fit, though with a little force. After installation I honestly think the speakers sound better. Although I used adhesive caulk on the inside of the cabinet to seal it. That probably helped. Good speaker- seems efficient and has good range. I am ...
