The whole kit and fittings all come in plain bags, no fancy box, the kit is all set to be fitted as system pre bled. I down loaded the manual for torque settings for the rotors and the calipers from Shimano. Ensure the bike and wheels are clean, makes it easier to fit the new brake system to a clean bike keeping your hands clean when fitting. Ensure the route your old hydraulic pipe lines took are followed back the same way for the new system. Once all fitted you may need to tweak the caliper to centre the new rotors, so no squeal or rubbing noise. Test ride (Private Road or quiet area) to ensure all working and brake levers adjusted to suit your hand size using an Allen key size 2. No other adjustment is available for the levers. When fitted and you first use your new brakes, they will require bedding in, new pads to new discs, so the feed back at first is unsettling as they feel you cannot stop, after a short while the pad to rotor becomes better with positive feed back from the caliper to the lever. Disassembly and Fitting time using the correct tools took about an 1 hour. I rate the mechanical experience to fit as a - medium difficultly (basic mechanical knowledge plus). Overall: positive : good Japanese quality as you would expect even for the low end braking system. Easy to fit. Negative: No other adjustment. Adjust of the lever is an Allen key, rather than a dial, but hat is really it for what you pay, XT has the dial adjustment for the level but much more in cost! No manual - down load is easy just 'Google' your brake system Tools needed; Mount adapter 5 mm Allen key brake lever adjustment 2mm Allen key Disc brake rotor fixing bolts #T15 torx (socket with wrench easier to undo existing and redo new bolts) Torque wrench (see manual for settings down load from Shimano)Read full review

Quite easy to fit as a replacement for the Tektro Auriga brakes which came as standard on my Giant Roam. The Tektros had become spongy and no amount of bleeding improved them. I bought these Shimano brakes as they are very similar to those that Giant now fit as standard.

Great product and very easily fitted in a few minutes. One minor thing to note is that as the "cables" are precut, they are only just long enough and if you have a big frame and put a column extender on to raise the handlebars the front brake may be a bit short.
