Bought as a gift for Grandparent that had experience with a 8" other brand tablet. The larger screen works great and the options are easy to use and download to make it uniquely personal. Touchscreen works perfectly for owner and it is very easy to understand the options. I feel like we got the perfect user friendly tablet for our family member.

Very Disappointed. The unit may have a good size screen, and resolution, I find it lacks in battery life, and standard apps compared to the IPAD. While everyone around me was using their IPads, and phones, I was the only one unable to connect to the verizon MiFi 5Ghz, rendering the unit useless. You would think a Verizon Tablet would be able to have no connection issues, but needless to say it did. I traveled to the nearest Verizon store who informed that verizon Jetpack unit 6620L provides 2 settings 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and this Samsung unit only works on the 2.4Ghz. Switching the Verizon Jetpack unit to the 2.4Ghz, caused some issues as there were several units in the house that worked off the same frequency (cordless phone, and garage door opener). While others were able to connect to the 2.4ghz with no issues, my connection was unable to receive constant signal due to the other devices in the home using that frequency. Again, rendering the unit useless. It may be advantageous to provide such information for the buyer. This was a very disappointing investment!Read full review

THE 4G UPGRADE CORRUPTS THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF THIS DEVICE. The upgrade allows the device to recognize 4G service, but it can NOT use 4G speeds. This is a very old tablet that runs version 4.1.2, and the carriers did a minimal hard/software upgrade to run super fast communication functions that the tablet is NOT capable of processing. High speed internet will prompt this device to either reboot itself, power off or overheat 1-2 times an hour. This is an awesome tablet that’s just too old to process today’s advance technology & struggles to runs multiple apps at the same time or basic apps like Microsoft Word, Illustrator, or ANY graphic intensive game/apps; can NOT install to many apps either. However, if you’re just looking for a table to draft memo & letters in TEXT format, play simple games like word search, crossword or Sudoku, maybe load 2-3 book to read on a beautiful big display ...this is the tablet for you. I can double down on these comments, as I own two of them that share many similar problems. The styling Qs of the TAB 2 has an elegant appearance even today, as I still get many impressive comments. I strongly feel that these are important factors that consumers need to be aware of in order to make an informed purchase.Read full review
